I’m a little curious – there are a number of recipes that include ingredients that, based on the extensive research I have done on hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s, are a real No-No. For instance, millet, peaches, pears, soy (although you have a number of options that are soy free), and for some, even sugar is a big contributor. I guess you have found they haven’t impacted your thyroid?
This blog is a representation of my journey the last 3 years. In that time my diet has changed in various ways. For the last year I have followed a strictly grain free/ low carb/ sugar free diet. At one point I just followed gluten/dairy Free. There is no one right way to eat if you have hashimotos, there is no one perfect set of rules. I do not subscribe to that way of thinking.
I believe what works for each of of us is best- and on this site you will find a huge variety of different types of recipes using different ingredients.

The one company that had really good ones, the store stopped selling them. I remember that the main ingredient was tapioca flour. Will or do you have any recipes for these?

Hi, there. You are an amazing woman finally figuring out what makes you feel better. It is completely overwhelming to me trying to find out why I feel so terrible. I know I have a hypothyroid and I am borderline Hashi. Why do you go with almond flour instead of GF flour? I know I should be GF and DF but I have been using regular GF flours.
Can you really eat all these foods and not feel terrible? I feel when I eat just a little too much I feel shaky, tired and have muscle pain. I am having a having a hard time gaining weight and everyone thinks I am not eating.

I have a thought for you. Have you had a ALCAT test done? If your not familiar with it, it tests for food sensitivities. although it is spendy it is a way to clinically find out what you are sensitive to. GF flower usually uses many different types of flower in it. you could be sensitive to one or more of the ingredients. also you might be amazed at what you find you shouldn’t be eating. lastly food sensitivities can take up to 72 hours to affect you, so that can make it more difficult to determine on your own what is bothering you. I hope this helps and best of luck.

Thank you SO much for creating all of these recipes. I am lactose intolerant, sensitive to eggs, and more than likely (I get my official test back in a few days) a Candida sufferer. I also have Hypothyroidism, too. At 23, I felt like my life had taken a turn for the worst. I was saddened by the fact that I wouldn’t be able to indulge in any of the food I love! You are such an inspiration, and your words of encouragement have helped me quite a lot. Your recipes are so tasty, and I have tried a few of them already.

At times I get so discouraged when I think about cooking for his allergies, but then all I have to do is look through the recipes on your website and I’m so inspired! Last week I made your Yeast-Free, Vegan Sandwich Bread from The Essential Gluten-Free Baking Guide Part 2 and it was amazing! My son is finally able to eat bread! One other thing I have found smoothies with things like protein powder, fish oil, coconut oil, fruit and other seeds have really helped with my dietary restrictions. I realize that they didn’t have protein powder or blenders in the paleolithic period but have you ever considered adding a smoothy section to your site? I would love to know what you come up with.
